SCBMH — Vol. 1 with Sheryce shot on Ilford SFX; Simple City Broke my Heart will be a collection of images and visuals showcasing gentrification and it’s widespread impact on the The District of Columbia’s impoverished communities. Project is going and currently is set to be featured in an exhibition in it’s entirety Spring of 2025.

the goal has been doing more with less from the start. the lack of resources shouldn’t push you away from your passion, but encourage you to pursue creative alternatives to realize your visions. anywhere is a backdrop, any location a studio, anyone a model. this has been the philosophy of my work from the beginning and has allowed me to create thought provoking pieces.

It’s important to me to let the work speak for itself whether through expired film, brand new Ektachrome or studio work on a digital camera, the most important aspect of my work capturing emotions in motion.

art is made to evoke feeling, and I’d like to believe what makes each shoot special is the emotion bleeding over into the film and transcending what’s captured in lens. it elevates the one in front of and behind the camera.
